Lady Gaga didn’t get that massive new tat for nothing.

Okay, we still haven’t figured out if it’s real or not, but Lady Gaga showed up to the 2017 Grammys ready to rock for Metallica. The new ink in question portrays some sort of hellspawn moth with a human skull — a perfect visual for Metallica’s pummeling 2016 song “Moth Into Flame.”

Lady Gaga joined the metal legends to rock out the cut from their recent album Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. James Hetfield’s mic was not working at the start of the performance, but the Metallica frontman refused to be silenced, joining Gaga on her mic to deliver his side of the vocals. And Gaga — she was pure fire. Fresh off her Super Bowl halftime show performance, Stefani Germanotta unleashed her “Heavy Metal Lover,” belting her share of the vocals and headbanging alongside Metallica’s blistering precision.
