Howwler Releases Sinister First EP “Chapter One”

Rumors of a sinister, faceless presence are emerging from the underground. The enigma has never been seen before, only identified by its malevolent music. Reminiscent of early Gesaffelstein, it’s been dubbed “Howwler” in honor of the eerie wolf’s cry that is featured on its premiere EP, “Chapter One.” The two track selection is our first peek into Howwler’s mysterious identity; the opening track ‘Midnight’ will induce goosebumps with its serrating synths, evil cackling, and of course, the wolf’s howl. As the EP progresses to ‘Signs & Wonders,’ its aesthetic shifts from Halloween-esque to underground warehouse rave. The driving bass line on ‘Signs & Wonders’ makes it a raw dance floor track, but it’s clear that he isn’t making music for virgin ears. His style is aimed at fans of the underground, educated listeners with discerning taste and a penchant for music as dark as their black club outfits.

Toronto-based live electronic act Keys N Krates are back to share a new single. “Glitter” features Ambré, and sees the group continuing to expand their sound and explore new territory as they broaden their style beyond the dance world. A deep twilight groove featuring New Orleans R&B talent Ambré, Keys N Krates emerge from the darkness with “Glitter,” which layers intoxicating vocals over snappy bass and warped strings for a hypnotic slowed down disco feel.

“We were trying to draw from music we love and grew up on like Jay Dilla, Tribe, DJ Premiere, as well current stuff that we love like everything from Beach House to Chrome Sparks to a lot of current rap stuff,” explains the group’s turntablist Jr. Flo. “We wanted to everything to sound like a sample.”

The group is also announcing that “Glitter” will be the lead single to their debut album, entitled Cura, arriving in early 2018 via Dim Mak Records.

Coinciding with the release of “Glitter,” Keys N Krates are also announcing a lengthy North American tour set to kick off on January 24th and running through the spring.

In other news, the group’s “Dum Dee Dum” single has recently achieved RIAA gold status. Given that the song never received significant radio airplay, this milestone is a testament to the scope of the group’s grassroots popularity.

And after all that, the end product is this luminous Pearl… it started off as a grain of sand and transcended into a beautiful, rare gem.”

There are few dance music vocalists as prolific as JES, whose mesmerizing voice has redefined the electronic dance music landscape with instantly recognizable classics like the critically acclaimed ‘Everything’ with the legendary Tiesto. JES becomes the newest thought provoking songstresses to cross over with new her single ‘Get Me Through the Night’, a poignant and emotionally stirring stand out from her upcoming EP. JES’s lyrical consciousness is on display with ‘Get Me Through the Night’, a commentary on the yearning for human connection in the vast emptiness of today’s hearts that seems to run rampant in this society.

When the night brings out the sadness of a messed up love, that emptiness can be filled with the strength of pushing through the bad times,” says JES when asked about the lyrics. “I wanted to write something that put that idea of light and dark into the context of a relationship, because it all comes down to not giving up and having faith that you will pull through in the end.”
