WOLFE Experiments With New Genre Defying Tune ‘Drop It’

Adam Subotin

Drop It

Perhaps known for his viral Trap Nation sensation ‘Under The Covers‘ which has been played upwards of 23 million times across major platforms, Young LA producer WOLFE is back with another “study” as he coins it. Following his Lowly Palace debut ‘Through With You,’ which has seen the tune streamed a whopping 1.7 million times, WOLFE experiments with his new genre-defying tune ‘Drop It’. WOLFE gives some insight into his creative process and how he conceived the idea for the tune.

“My brother makes visual art and I recently took note of how he refers to his work as ‘studies’. I thought this was a really interesting way of looking at one’s art and I took it to heart when making this song. For me, ‘Drop It’ is a study into the synthesis of different genres into one; sort of a collage of the many sounds I’m vibing with right now.”

To the young producer’s point, the track is indeed a “synthesis” of several different genres. Between the future bass inspired lead, hip-hop styled break, and uplifting chord work, WOLFE impresses with his ability to blend such distinctly different sounds and styles.
