With newly minted memories of their CalJam 17 triumph still fresh in the eyes and ears of 30,000+ true rock believers, and with Concrete and Gold (Roswell Records/RCA Records) still riding high in the charts worldwide since its international #1 debut, Foo Fighters have announced the next phase of the Concrete and Gold global domination initiative:

The first 2018 North American dates of the Concrete and Gold world tour have been confirmed: The new shows will kick off April 18 in Austin, Texas and will run through the band’s July 29 return to Chicago’s Wrigley Field. Included on the newly announced itinerary are a July 16-17 two-night stand at New York’s Madison Square Garden, a July 21-22 encore doubleheader at Boston’s Fenway Park, and so much more.

Tickets for these shows will be on sale to the general public Friday, November 3 at 10am local time (*with the exception of the public on sale for Chicago, which will begin November 10).

Capital One cardholders will have access to an exclusive cardholder pre-sale for Foo Fighters Concrete and Gold Tour. Capital One cardholder pre-sale for the Chicago date will begin Monday, November 6 at 10 a.m.

Visit www.foofighters.com/capitalone for more details and information.

Foo Fighters kicked off the first U.S. leg of the Concrete and Gold Tour October 12 with an intimate show by FF standards—the grand opening of The Anthem in Washington DC—a performance that USA Today noted “transformed the venue into a raucous rock cathedral.” In the days since, Foo Fighters have continued to storm through sold out arenas in Richmond VA, Greensboro SC, Cincinnati and more. The first Foo Fighters global trek since the 20th Anniversary trek that placed #5 in 2015’s top grossing world tours, the Concrete and Gold Tour has seen the Foos reaching new peaks of their estimable powers. “Foo Fighters keep going and going and going in epic Greensboro show,” wrote the Charlotte Observer, “If there’s one thing you can count on lately when you walk into a Foo Fighters concert, it’s that you probably won’t get home until tomorrow.” The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported, “Having played and sung all night with a seemingly endless store of energy, Grohl noted as midnightapproached, ‘I’m going to feel like I was run over by a truck tomorrow.’” And the Washington Post called the Anthem opener “a rock-and-roll clinic from Foo Fighters,” adding “when it was time to officially open the venue… the Anthem called in the only band with the local roots and international fame that could pull it off: Foo Fighters… That’s exactly what Grohl and friends did, treating the Anthem like a new leather jacket: turning something that glimmers with newness and making it feel as cozy as a childhood home.”

Celebrating Something Old With Something New At City Hearts Festival

Bradley Callison

As Desert Hearts celebrated their 5 Year Anniversary this past weekend in downtown Los Angeles, the only thing different about this party than a standard Desert Hearts Festival was the location. As the crew from San Diego brought the party from the desert to the city streets for the first City Hearts Festival, literally everything was brought in and then some. From the irresistible Pile Palace to the classy Wine & Cheese Party; the ethos of House, Techno and Love was glittered throughout downtown Los Angeles and the scene was set for a night of infamous Desert Hearts movin’ and groovin’. As Porkchop got things warmed up in pure tech house fashion, I ran into Dirtybird player Sacha Robotti upon first entering the festival and from the get go knew this was going to be a special night. I made my way around the various vendors spread throughout the event space and was even surprised to find a few friends vending their art, clothes, necklaces and everything in between as we all know its all about the details when its comes to festival fashion. Another known fact regarding fashion among the Desert Hearts faithful is the fact that when there’s a Desert Hearts party, the ladies are dressed in the finest festival threads. With what I think is the best looking fan base, every beautiful girl is only as beautiful as her smile and there were plenty of those to be found everywhere you looked. Marbs brought the party up a notch with some techno and as the sun set on Los Angeles, the party was just getting started. Papa Lee Reynolds then took the reigns as the pulse of City Hearts was now throbbing to the steady beat of what makes up Desert Hearts; the vibe and the people. With their staple of featuring one stage and only house and techno, nothing but a good time is guaranteed and you are destined to make at least one new life-lasting friend or twenty. As the final set of night began with the entire Desert Hearts Crew, memories of when I attended my first Desert Hearts festival back in fall of 2015 came rushing back to my mind. As we danced the through the family set and smiles glimmered in the reflections of the heart above the stage, it was safe to say City Hearts Festival was yet another love-filled memory that all in attendance will hold close to our Desert Hearts forever.

Voodoo 2017 Review

VOODOO GETS SPOOKIER EVERYTIME I GO BACK! THIS IS A GOOD THING!

This was the first festival I ever attended. It was 6 hrs away but it was on Halloween and it was New Orleans, enough said! That was in 2012. Fast forward to 2017 and it is my first time back in 5 years. I’m not going to review each of the artist. I feel we know that it’s worth the ticket price alone to catch the likes of Kendrick, Foo Fighters, & Dillon Francis alone. What I want to talk about is the environment that C3 have created with this festival.

New Orleans is the place to be on Halloween. It’s the setting of Anne Rice, clubs called the Dungeon, Trent Reznor(NIN) wrote some of his best work there. All things creepy are here! What is cool is the fact that the festival tries to bring this onto City Park grounds in the epicenter of the festival. Voodoo is not just 5 stages and more artist or acts that one could see in one weekend. Voodoo is an experience with music and art and a grave yard and even a HAUNTED HOUSE! Now I didn’t go in the haunted house. I was too busy lugging around my camera gear and computer. Everyone coming out of it seemed to have really enjoyed it though. I think that is what matters in the end.

The stages are a bit smaller than the last time I was there but the production was still top notch. There was plenty of pyro, lighting, and loud sound for all to go around. The one thing I want to point out is this is the first time I went to a festival and didn’t experience any kind of sound bleed. It seems like they really figured this one out. If you want to get from the Altar(main stage) to the LePlur(edm stage) it takes a bit of a walk but well worth it. I’m sure the artist appreciated it as well.

Because Voodoo is a C3 event you can always count on the lineup being sort of a spin off of other large US festivals like Lollapalooza in Chicago or ACL in Texas.  The one thing you will see that is different is the culture that surrounds this festival and it’s city full of history. It could just very well be that us humans are interested in creepy cool. Voodoo is definitely creepy cool!
