Desert Hearts Takes The Party To The City To Celebrate 5 Years Of One Vibe

In the midst of their largest tour to date, our favorite party crew out of San Diego, Desert Hearts, has set its groovy sights on a new festival concept. Aimed at delivering the fully immersive experience of their off-the-grid event to the sprawling cultural hub of Los Angeles Center Studios in Downtown, their inaugural City Hearts Festival looks to be the first of its kind and bring the infamous Desert Hearts vibes and bass lines to the city. By bringing the desert party to the city, their message of House, Techno, Love will be the only thing on our minds come this Sunday in Los Angeles. Look for Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Porkchop, Marbs and a few surprises to bring in the warm vibes and keep the dance floor churning with smiles, hugs and warm embraces.

With the absence of their Fall festival, City Hearts will serve in its stead. City Hearts has blessed LA before, as I was present for last year’s City Hearts at the Belasco. City Hearts will act as a sort of continuation of the love-swept, multifaceted journey that has captivated so many community members at their remarkable festival in Southern California on an Indian reservation. Many are lured by the promise of nonstop House and Techno and Love, only to be treated to a wide-reaching array of the scene’s most revered visual artists, vendors, healers, yogis and beyond.

Desert Hearts will also be using this new event to engage their community for change and social action with the launch of Helping Hearts, a charitable division of the DH movement.By activating followers with a day of service in the run-up to the event and donating 25% percent of the ticket sales to the Downtown LA Mission, DH hopes to apply the ethos of the movement they have created hand in hand to their new urban home.

This spring something new and exciting is taking place in Barbados. From April 4th-8th the stunning Caribbean island will be graced with a new week long music festival. Vujaday, which is defined as “an entirely new experience” and “like nothing you have ever seen or felt before,” will take place in a variety of unique locations around the island, leaving the first and last day of the week-long journey for travel.

Vujaday initially dropped their Phase One lineup back in November, which included Toronto electronic legend Art Department, All Day I Dream founder Lee Burridge, Chicago house hero Green Velvet, San Francisco resident and Dirtybird favorite Justin Martin, Life and Death founder DJ Tennis, Crew Love members Wolf + Lamb, Lonely C (Soul Clap), Nick Monaco and The Fitness & Pony, Hot Creations founder Lee Foss, Brooklyn duo Bedouin, Mikey Lion and Lee Reynolds from Desert Hearts, Italian electronic DJ Francesca Lombardo, Los Angeles house DJ Lauren Lane, UK electronic duo Solardo, and Nottingham tech house producer Latmun.

With the festival only a few months away, Vujaday has now returned with a stacked phase two lineup that includes Toolroom Records founder and a legendary name in the world of electronic music Mark Knight, San Francisco based house DJ atish, Toronto resident and Hot Creations signee Nathan Barato, Berlin house aficionada YokoO, Burning Man favorite Behrouz, Vienna based techno DJ Cassy, Brazilian born DJ Gaby Endo, New York resident and Ibiza favorite Salomé, renowned Canadian DJ Nitin, dreamy Toronto based project Lost Boy, and rising Miami house and techno producer m.O.N.R.O.E. To top things off, there will also be a rare B2B2B set with veteran DJs Danny Howells, Darren Emerson, and Dave Seaman.

The five primary events will run from Wednesday through Sunday during Vujaday with the largest event on Saturday. Events will take place on the Southern, Eastern and Western coasts of the island. More information related to specific events and venues is scheduled to be announced in the next few weeks.

An electronic event of this scale has yet to take place in Barbados, and is meant to create an unforgettable experience for locals and travelers. Locals will get the chance to experience techno and house DJs from around the world, many who have never performed in Barbados, while those new to the island will receive a much wider experience than they would normally get on a typical visit.

The team behind Vujaday will be bringing decades of experience in the festival and event space to the beautiful island of Barbados. This includes industry veterans that have been involved in the creation and operation of Toronto based events like Digital Dreams Music Festival, Electric Island, World Electronic Music Festival and All Day I Dream. Grab your tickets here for this special gathering and we’ll see you beach side.

You certainly heard that song last summer on the radio or at a festival. The singer of the smash summer dance track ‘Cola’ just started his North American headlining tour. He was nominated at Sunday night’s GRAMMY Awards for Best Dance Recording as a featured vocalist on the summer dance hit song ‘Cola’ produced by the British producer/DJ duo Camelphat. Undoubtedly the biggest and most addictive dance music record of 2017, ‘Cola’ has captivated tastemakers, DJs and clubbers alike – currently sitting at #1 at US Dance Radio after reaching #1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. The song celebrates 55 million streams to date, and was the highest selling track on Beatport in 2017.

On Tuesday night, I had the chance to watch Elderbrook play his first show of his North American headlining tour in Miami. His live performance was incredible and full of energy. Here is a little preview of what he is able to do on stage.

Elderbrook is definitely one to watch in 2018! Make sure to follow him on social media.
