DREVM Debut Eerie Genre Entitled 5-Track EP ‘Lo-Death’

DREVM are back at it again, and this time the duo takes their previously coined genre “Deathcore“, and flips it on its head with more tastefully eerie effects. However, instead of another single, DREVM debut a new 5-track EP entitled ‘Lo-Death’. The EP boasts some dark, lo-fi vibes and while some tracks may seem short the general ambiance and consistency among the tracks make this EP seem like one long horror story. Although each separate track delivers its own unique atmosphere, together they almost effortlessly blend into something spectacular.

When asked how ‘Lo-Death’ was born, DREVM responded saying, “We included more lo-fi elements like the jazz/chill breakdowns… the drops are still heavy on the low end but are a little different from our “Deathcore” stuff.” Not surprisingly, this is pretty ordinary per DREVM’s style, as they also exclaimed they really wanted to hammer home the “really eerie, dark, and creepy” vibes for this EP.

If you ask me they knocked it out of the park. Take a listen to DREVM’s ‘Lo-Death EP for yourself below.

Rossy’s message to her fans is simple. ‘Hi, I hope ur having a rad day,’ her SoundCloud profile reads. ‘i like making music 4 u.’ On her latest music-making endeavor, Rossy boldly tackles Jauz and ROUXN’s smash hit ‘Meant To Love You.’ Recognizing the power of the original song’s vocals, Rossy tastefully re-imagines them into her own stripped down version. By minimizing the synths from the official version and emphasizing ROUXN’s voice, she gives listeners a fresh take on a modern dance classic. As her sixth official release to date, Rossy’s ‘Meant To Love You’ remix is already becoming one of her most popular SoundCloud tracks—indicating a promising future in remixing tracks for prominent artists.

Grandtheft & MAX

Toronto based producer Grandtheft, and R&B sensation MAX join forces to light up the holiday season with their Lowly Palace debut ‘Square One.’ Grandtheft and Max are no strangers to success. In fact, both artists have gone viral in 2017, with Grandtheft’s ‘Easy Go,’ and MAX’s ‘Lights Down Low‘ accumulating over 125 million streams between the two. Alongside the self-titled, ‘Square One’ tour, these two heavy hitters collide to bring the exuberantly co-written track to life.

Grandtheft gives us a little insight into the track and its meaning stating, “‘Square One’ is at once about disappointment and coming to terms with an ending, but also restarting with strength and self-awareness. It’s masculine but compassionate.” Teeming with a wholesome ebb and flow, the track exudes exactly what the writers intended. Don’t think that the two forgot about the time of year either, “There is a fall/winter mood to it – the bittersweet quality of the song mirrors wanting to keep yourself warm in the face of increasingly cold weather.” Pretty clever of the two, even if it hasn’t gotten that cold just yet.
